Education through conservation.
I take pride in saying I’ve been with Zephyrhills for 23 years now. In those years, it’s fair to say that volunteering is something I’ve become pretty passionate about. The past couple of years I’ve been volunteering for Project WET at the Crystal Spring Preserve. We teach 3rd and 4th graders about water preservation and conservation. It’s a good balance of fun and learning for the kids.
It’s been a great experience, and now my son comes along and volunteers with me. Just recently, while he participated in an activity about polluting waterways, I manned a water station where the kids raced each other to fill these big buckets with water. With my 7th grader volunteering with me, we’re learning about the environment and giving back, together.
